Even the lively visuals and unrelenting thrill-ride pace can't disguise rough-hewn storytelling, or the fact that the tale of a old-fashioned macho cave dad and his family seems a bit yabba-dabba done that already.. WALL-E is a classic, but it will never appeal to people who are happy with art only when it has as little bite as possible.. . WALL-E is yet another notch in Pixar's computer-animation belt, and it's one of the better entries, with greater emotional resonance than anything they've do...
